The delegates and the Platform Committee are being asked to adopt a change to the Republican Party Platform regarding illegal aliens. The change is titled ?Stop Illegal Immigration?, and urges ?Congress to develop a SENSIBLE IMMIGRATION POLICY?. This change to the party platform is being advanced by Mr. Norm Adams of Houston. It has the support of many in the construction industry that hire illegal aliens and those that recruit them to come to the United States.
Should the delegates adopt this resolution it will be used in efforts to thwart any attempts by the Texas Legislature to pass a bill similar to Arizona, or any other bill that holds employers liable for hiring illegal aliens.
A close examination of the resolution reveals a cleverly crafted document meant to confuse, convince and convert the reader. Careful examination reveals the true intent.
